Taqseemaعربي

How does Taqseema work?

  1. You enter your salary and the day it comes, and your fixed costs (rent, car loan, housemaid, bills…).
  2. You pick your seasons: rent cheques, school fees, insurance, Ramadan and Eid, the trip, zakat.
  3. On payday we split it in order: fixed, then the seasons fund, then savings first, and the rest is “free to spend”.
  4. The free money is divided by the days left until the next payday: that's “You can spend today”.
  5. Every expense you log (with + or from a bank SMS) updates the number. At the end of the cycle we show where your money went.

Log them automatically (iPhone shortcut)

A Shortcuts automation opens Taqseema every time your bank texts you, and the message is read on your phone only (it never reaches us).

  1. Open the Shortcuts app → Automation → + → Message.
  2. Under Sender pick your bank (e.g. ENBD or FAB), and under Message Contains type AED.
  3. Choose Run Immediately (no confirmation) if you see the option.
  4. Add a URL action: https://taqseema.ghaf.work/en/add#sms= followed by the Message variable (the message content).
  5. Add Open URLs. Done: every bank SMS opens Taqseema with the expense ready, and you tap “Save expense”.

Check on your own iPhone: depending on the iOS version, it may ask before running the shortcut. If you'd rather not automate, copy the SMS and use “Paste a bank SMS”.

On Android

After adding Taqseema to your Home Screen, long-press a bank SMS → Share → Taqseema.

Your numbers stay on your phone. We never see them.
